I spend way too much time and money on the internet so you don't have to.

It will take quite a bit of time to process the trauma of the last four years, but now it is time to look ahead, and in looking ahead, there is a certain clear-eyedness that the four years has fostered. A clarity that nothing — not even the return of compassionate stability to the executive chamber — can cloud.
Jill Biden is a 69-year-old mother of three with a Dr. in front of her name, signaling one of her four degrees. When Joe Biden is inaugurated in January, Jill Biden will become the “first professor FLOTUS,” as CNN coined it—the first first lady who plans to work outside the White House, continuing her career as an English professor at Northern Virginia Community College in addition to her planned causes: free community college, military families, expanding cancer research and education.

A slightly streamlined issue this week due to the Gift Guides means no book recommendations but My Bookshelf is available below and The Reader Gift Guide drops Nov. 24.
There could've been a million other titles for this list, and every single one would have been better than the one I chose, but that doesn't take away from these bomb finds. Do the kids still say bomb?
Honestly, the Gift Guide mostly likely to receive a sequel. Patting myself on the back for these affordable and versatile little gems. Plus, stocking stuffers are great because you don't have to wrap them.
Listen, I know that we've all spent most of 2020 on the ground but there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Dipping your toe back into adventure? Right this way. And if bon voyage means going barefoot in your backyard, I’ve got you covered, too.
Shocked that I found a way to make it about me? Rookie mistake. Spoiler alert: it's still worth taking a peek because I have exquisite and wildly eclectic taste.

Movies have had a complex relationship with conspiracy theories. Misleading — and often outright false — documentaries have been used to push everything from 9/11 conspiracy theories to COVID-19 disinformation to alleged UFO cover-ups to whatever nonsense Dinesh D’Souza is trying to push on any given day. Yet the same elements that can make for irresponsible journalism can prove irresistible to storytellers.
With the effects of time and the elements in mind, artist Bosco Sodi created a private retreat for his own family on the coast of Mexico. Traditional Oaxacan thatched roofs offer shade from the harsh tropical sun, floor-to-ceiling openings frame ocean views, and walls of stucco and brick reveal the mark of local artisans. There’s no air-conditioning—just ceiling fans—and only spotty internet. Outside, a pool extends dramatically toward the waves, reflecting every sunset, every day gone by.
It me. I'm Collin. Shockingly, I hate talking about myself but here are the CliffsNotes. 31, Texan turned cruise ship character turned Texan turned Chicagoan turned Texan. Event designer and planner. Interior designer and stylist. Corporate badass. Partner and double dog dad. Cursed with an aggressive gluten intolerance but also a passion for bread and no f*cks to give. Why a newsletter? It gives me a creative outlet with a deadline and my therapist says these things are important. Plus, I love to read, shop, share, and most importantly spend time on the internet. I don't sleep.
