I spend way too much time and money on the internet so you don't have to.

Some of the links below are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I could possibly earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase.
***Oops! The graphic has been corrected below: When building a custom mat, the outside dimensions of that mat should match the frame size. The inner dimensions are the window that your art peeks through. I definitely made it more complicated than it should have been.

For mats, I default to
FrameItEasy because you can get 10% off but there are tons of options all over the internet and locally too. For frames, the possibilities are endless - you can buy bad art that's been well framed, you can shop IKEA or HomeGoods, or you can grab something basic from Amazon and let the mat do the talking.

Since it's Hump Day, here's a little music to get you through the rest of the week:
"CD Curated: Power Bottom Autumn" has evolved into a fittingly chaotic playlist. Otherwise, "3 by 7" is a great newsletter that introduces you to three new songs each week.***
*As expected, The Collective fell victim to my new job last week and I can't promise it won't happen again. It's getting really hard to balance everything every week and I've given up on heavily monetizing this newsletter. Why am I telling you this? Because, if you enjoy The Collective, please take the time to share it a friend - referrals and minimal commissions help me cover hosting costs and let me know there's interest in this little passion project of mine.*

I love finding artists via Instagram and supporting them directly by ordering prints. However, although the art might be affordable, framing costs add up quick.

Although not a groundbreaking tip, I thought it was worth breaking down how I afford to frame so much of my art - including some large pieces! (I wish I was cool enough for a sponsorship but here's 10% off your FrameItEasy order!)

This movie isn't for everyone - especially if you are expecting your standard Marvel fare. However, I think I liked it? It's got an incredible director and cast, it's visually stunning, unique, and sweeps across the centuries. Of course it's too long, but it has A LOT to set-up. You absolutely must stick around for BOTH post-credit scenes!
In my opinion, a visually stunning two-hour trailer for the second part featuring heavy incest-vibes and lots of mumbling. Also, not a spoiler, but Zendaya is in this movie for a grand total of 7 minutes. Literally. Did you watch it too? Here's a deeper look at the things we would've picked up on if we had read the book.
Released from prison after serving a sentence for a violent crime, Ruth Slater (Sandra Bullock) re-enters a society that refuses to forgive her past. Facing severe judgment from the place she once called home, her only hope for redemption is finding the estranged younger sister she was forced to leave behind. Based on a British miniseries, it's Sandy's first movie since Bird Box!

It me. I'm Collin. Shockingly, I hate talking about myself but here are the CliffsNotes. 32, Texan turned cruise ship character turned Texan turned Chicagoan turned Texan. Event designer and planner. Interior designer and stylist. Corporate badass. Spotify playlist-makin' fiend. Fiancé and double dog dad. Cursed with an aggressive gluten intolerance but also a passion for bread and no f*cks to give. Why a newsletter? It gives me a creative outlet with a deadline and my therapist says these things are important. Plus, I love to read, shop, share, and most importantly spend time on the internet. I don't sleep.
