The Collective: Curated by Collin Duwe
I spend way too much time and money on the internet so you don't have to.
We're four issues in and I love what we've got going...but I'd love to spice it up. If you're up for it, I'm sure one of your friends would be down to join the fun. Hell, maybe a couple of friends. Forward them this email - they can subscribe right here. C'mon, don't be scared and thanks for your continued support.
Articles Worth Your Time
Y'all know I can see what you click, right? Shopping is great but so are these articles and this is a must read. Seriously.

If you’re struggling to detach yourself from your various devices during this pandemic—or, if you can't do that out of necessity, but would like strategies for constantly looking at a screen without wanting to crack it into pieces—here are some tips.

Buckle up, this is a scroll full of gems. As the header states, worth your time.

Nightstand Pile: What I'm Reading
RBG's death hit me hard. Hard. Not only because I am in very fragile state after six months of isolation but also because she is the epitome of an icon. I wish I could say I've already read this but I pushed *add to cart* so quickly as I shoveled ice-cream flavored feelings into my mouth on Friday.
God, I would give my left tit to get Barry back right now.

"Standoff is award-winning journalist Jamie Thompson's gripping account of a deadly night in Dallas, told through the eyes of those at the center of the events, who offer a nuanced look at race and policing in America." Like A Promised Land, this a pre-order but I can't wait to read this - the author had access to unreleased body cam footage from that now infamous night in Dallas.
Looking for more book recommendations? Here's my Amazon List - some I've read and some are waiting in the wings. Let me know if something should be on my radar!

  • I'm not a doctor but I'm pretending this is healthy because it tastes so good, there's like four calories, and I can see sounds.
  • Stairs at your house? You need this and I need you to trust me on that.
  • Masks are here to stay and I think these are the most effective and easiest to breathe through. Plus, the black is a little more chic. I keep a box by the back door and a box in my car.
  • Listen, having a coffee maker at my desk - home or office - gets some stares but it's a game-changer. This is just the cutest.
  • I love flowers so much and these feel like a great sustainable option.
2020 is WILD and that is why, this September, Lowe’s and NYFW have partnered up! Lowe's is bringing New York Fashion Week home with curations from fashion designers Jason Wu, Rebecca Minkoff and Christian Siriano. None of these words go together and I love it. Plus, it's well done and super affordable!
Fifty-ish more things I found on the Internet. Listen, there's nothing you need but probably something you want - including some Etsy finds.
Still need to fill a retail-shaped hole in your heart? Here's my Amazon Storefront. Buckle up and grab that credit card.
Links I Loved
If every week I spend a total of ten hours grading, twenty-five hours teaching, forty hours sleeping, and fifty-one and a half hours e-mailing students who are having technical difficulties, how many hours do I have left to watch “Interior Design Masters” on Netflix? What if I stop showering?
The brothers behind Yeti created a hunting camp for their families but also my literal dream. That kitchen! That pool!
My go-to party trick is baked brie because it looks like you did the most while doing the bare minimum. Trust me, you're going to want to try this.
Shameless Self Promotion
It me. I'm Collin. Shockingly, I hate talking about myself but here are the CliffsNotes. 31, Texan turned cruise ship character turned Texan turned Chicagoan turned Texan. Event designer and planner. Interior designer and stylist. Corporate badass. Partner and double dog dad. Cursed with an aggressive gluten intolerance but also a passion for bread and no fucks to give. Why a newsletter? It gives me a creative outlet with a deadline and my therapist says these things are important. Plus, I love to read, shop, share, and most importantly spend time on the internet. I don't sleep.
